Pre-Counselling Brochure

Certainly, you do not have to be crazy to go to counselling or undergo cognitive behavioural therapy. There are many reasons for seeking help and although it is normally difficult to make the decision to see a counsellor, this can be a mature decision that can improve enormously your quality of life.

Anapsys Counselling Services is a private practice located in Belfast managed by Silvia Buet and John Dunlop. Sylvia is a Psychologist and an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). John and Sylvia are both qualified as Level II EMDR practitioners and Hypnotherapists.

Silvia specialises in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and places a particular emphasis on Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT). This type of therapy is solution focused and it is  quite effective to deal with a broad range of psychological or emotional problems such as depression, phobias, panic attacks, anxiety, relationship break-ups, low confidence, social anxiety, health anxiety, OCD, trauma, guilt, anger, shame, pure obsessions, sleep disorders, sexual issues, etc. CBT therapy is available for individuals in Belfast (Northern Ireland). We could also offer telephone counselling for those who cannot travel to the practice.

For simple problems such as smoking cessation, control your weight, simple phobias such as fear of flying, etc., hypnosis may be just what you need. Most times, you only require one or two sessions to achieve your goal. If the problem is more complex and not suitable for hypnosis, you will be offered CBT.

More information on the scope of the therapy can be viewed from the counselling common questions page. Fees of our services can be accessed from our pre-counselling brochure by clicking here.

The International Institute for Cognitive Therapy, in association with Anapsys Counselling Services, is now offering two cognitive behavioural training courses for those who want to become a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist. Two CBT courses are available for 2009: a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a Diploma in CBT. Both training programmes will run on weekends (one a month). The courses will be presented by the Director of the International Institute of Cognitive Therapy, Sylvia Buet. Please find more information about our CBT training courses at www.learncognitivetherapy.com
